More Power

I lazed around this morning, looking for the SATERN nets on HF.  Apparently there had been a solar event because I wasn't hearing anything.  Yet another Saturday morning wasted, hoping to hear a signal!

Thereafter, I began doing some housework in fits and starts.  Then BAM, the power flickered twice and went out for good.  I always wait a few minutes to see if it will come back on again before I panic.  Did I pay the bill?  Is anyone else's power off?  The neighbors across the street still had theirs...so I phoned in the outage.  (Just got a machine.)  Ran out and got myself a sandwich.  Came back.  Still no power.  Knocked on the next door neighbor's house to see if they had power.  They didn't.  So all there was left to do was wait...and wait...and wait.  I tried to do some things that didn't need power.  Crawled on my hands and knees in the living room to pick up trask that the grandchildren had left behind.  Stood on a stepstool to take down a damaged curtain rod from two months ago when my niece's dog pulled it down.  I had to keep reminding myself that I couldn't be on the computer, etc.  (That's a hard thing to accept in this day and age!  Lesson to people who work in disaster:  it can happen!)

Two hours later, the power returned.  The dog looked shocked when everything came alive again.  By this time, I had already lost my momentum in the cleaning department.  Oh, well!  I still have Sunday....if that counts.  Have to actually get off my bottom, however.  That may take some work!
