In an attempt to make Robin's room more "finished", I took the children shopping today, after taking them to Mickey D's for lunch. We stopped at my bank, then went to a Target Superstore in an effort to find more matching stuff for Robin's room. The children were so good, I was concerned that they were overtired...or sick. We didn't find anything close to what we were looking for. (I can't believe at the poor selections for bedding and/or curtains out there. As Meg says, "Fashion is in a bad place right now." She's right.) Ryan took on a whiny voice and "lost" me in the toy aisles. Clearly time to go home. Still, the venture took three hours out of the day. Got back in time to prepare supper. Then there were kid things to take care of...baths, etc. Then we had to load some things in Meg's van to take to IL. In short, I am leaving for Illinois tomorrow but am nowhere near ready to go.
It hurts me to say this, but I am no longer strong enough to do the things that I used to do. Meg took the back seats out of her van tonight for my IL trip. They were behind my car when I had to make a run out. I could scarcely move them! Water softener salt bags? Need help to get them in the house and in the brine tank. Moving? Well...maybe just a little. I have been an independent cuss for a long time, but find myself less and less physically able to manage the way I'd like. I guess there will be more of this as I continue to age...for as long as God allows me to live.
I feel like I could sleep for a week. I wouldn't be happy doing that, but it would be nice to have the opportunity. Going to my sister's tomorrow. It will be a change of scenery for all of us.
