Yesterday

We spent a chunk of yesterday shopping. Needed to get presents for Megan's birthday and for her marriage to Denis. When finished with that, the kids went swimming in the pool. (Ya know, I didn't think it was warm enough to do that, but there were other people in the pool...and no one seems to notice that it's not all that hot out. Of course, there was the hot tub...)

With kids comes clutter. The children have received presents all week that consist of things to do and play with--most of which will have to stay here for their next visit this summer. Thus, there have been pieces and parts all over the apartment (which is small to begin with)...and with clutter comes irritation. Megan was crabby last night, but she did manage to do my income taxes for me. (Thank you, Meg!)

Today is my daughter's 31st birthday. The night she was born, it was snowing in our part of Illinois, with at least an inch on the ground and more coming down for our hurried trip to the hospital. When we got there, I was ready to deliver. Huh??? I thought first births were supposed to take hours and hours! She arrived four weeks before the doctors had told me she was due...and she's been impatient ever since!

Lots to do today. The wedding is tomorrow...and then we depart very early for the San Jose airport on Saturday for our trip home. I will have a couple of very tired grandchildren, but they have had a great time!
