Way back, 29 years ago, when I was preggers with my daughter, my then-husband and I were living in an old rented house. We decided to paint the second bedroom which was to be the combined nursery and room for my stepdaughter. We slapped on some latex paint...and in short order it all came peeling down in huge sheets. Huh? A trip to a store that specializes in paint sent a representative to the house to figure out what was going on. The best anyone could figure was that the wall covering was calcimine paint--water based--and that the application of latex totally peeled it.
We ran into something like that tonight. As Meg and I were applying a drywall primer to what will be Robin's room, bubbles appeared...and, on one wall at least, the four layers that we had been trying to get off with water and scraping just came right off. Ugh!
On another note, Meg and I did go to the Weight Watchers meeting this morning. Meg came into my room and said, "Come on, Tubby. Get up!" Tubby? Well, thankyouverymuch! She gets a whopping 14 more food points per day than I do. All of this requires a total shift of thinking, and more planning. We went to Wally-World to get paint and low fat groceries. Food that is good for you is a whole lot more expensive than the bad stuff! I did experience hunger today for the first time in awhile. I guess that's a step in the right direction...
Have to hit the sack. We have to paint one room and get another room ready for painting tomorrow...and I am out of steam!
