I Have Garbage Again!

Or maybe that should be "I have a garbage disposer again!"  When I got home from school today, Ryan Holly had already been here and departed...and I had a new garbage disposer in place!  He left the old one out where I could see it.  It was really ugly and rusted through in places.  (Someone needs to explain to me why they make things that will be in water out of materials that rust!!!)  The old disposer was 11 years old.  I don't know what the normal life of those things is, but mine was shot.  Thanks again, Ryan.  You have saved me again!  Now to put my kitchen back together...

Just finished writing lesson plans for a sub tomorrow.  My teaching team will be having a meeting during school hours in order to go over 8th grade ISTEP scores.  Planning for a sub is a pain because everything has to be written down in order for the sub to survive.  It's a pretty thankless job!  My team probably also needs to come up with some sort of strategy for remediation for those who didn't pass.  I don't know what more we can do!  There is a general problem with students who don't care that much about doing well, and it counts against us as teachers, and as a school.  Where did I put my magic wand?

I watched the debut tonight on CBS, of a reality show that is being filmed in Muncie, Indiana (where my daughter lives):  "Armed and Famous."  Five TV celebrities have taken police training in Muncie and are patroling the streets with the Muncie PD.  It was an okay show.  Certainly not an award-winning program.  I guess the most interesting part of it is where it is taking place.  Muncie, Indiana?  Who'd a-thunk it?

On her webcam tonight, my daughter shared some pictures that my granddaughter drew.  Her pictures are rapidly becoming more and more complex and detailed.  She has a spark of creativity and imagination that is enviable.  You go, Robin!!  That's my Beanie!
