Taking a Pause

I have had a glorious weekend at home.  Have only left the homestead to go to the grocery store to buy the usual two-weeks of dog food so that the pooch can eat even if I am shy on funds at the end of the pay period!

One of my colleagues lost her father quite suddenly at the end of last week.  I couldn't attend the services, but I sent her an email, and got a return message soon after that my words had helped.  I hope so.  I care.

On that same note, a regular on MIDCARS, KE8SP, became a "silent key" on Friday.  Betty had lost both of her legs to diabetes.  She had been in ill health for awhile, as is her husband, Tex.  They ran a Santa Claus net on 40 meters for a number of years.  Her passing is sad.

I haven't accomplished all that much today, but did get some things done.  I feel sorry for the resident canine.  She has nothing to look forward to, day by day.  She just eats and sleeps.  Same as me.

It has just rained and rained.  I think we are going to miss the bullet of snow that was earlier anticipated.  Southern Michigan is under a snow warning, but we are only looking at more rain.  I need sun!!!!

Hope all my Florida-traveling friends are home safely.  Tomorrow starts another week!
