I won't mention his age, but my brother-in-law celebrates 60-something today. Just talked to him on the phone because the card that I was so careful to send so it would get there today has been side-tracked by the holiday that our school district doesn't observe. Arrrgggghhh! Roger will undergo a heart stress test tomorrow, so they spent a quiet evening at home due to eating restrictions. Doesn't sound like much fun at all!
Mark and Beth stopped over this afternoon. Mark and Beth, as in the Mark and Beth who lived here for 10 or 11 weeks two summers ago. As in the Mark and Beth who spoiled my dog. Okay...so the dog didn't remember them. They came in the living room. The dog headed for the couch. M & B made NO attempt to touch her or even approach her. They just TALKED to her...and what did she do? She piddled on the couch, then went to the kitchen to hide and piddled there, too! This pooch is so neurotic, it amazes me that she functions at all. She is totally dependent on me for security. I have known her since she was 6 weeks old. (I called her my Grandpuppy before I had grandchildren.) When the kids had to leave her behind as they moved to Muncie, I took her on with the notion that I would only keep her until I could find another home for her. Well...you know how that goes! I am now convinced that she is so totally neurotic that she wouldn't function well in another home. That makes me the stuckee! I'm such a sucker for animals, I knew this would happen! I cleaned up the couch and the kitchen carpet. I'm getting used to this...
My house is still pretty much in shambles after the holidays. I keep working, but energy wanes in the evenings. I"m old, you know! I just keep on pluggin'!
