To my grandmother, deceased since 1975: You were a huge influence in my life. I loved you then; I love you now. I admired the daylights out of you for your wisdom, strength, dignity, and beauty. You are gone but certainly not forgotten.
To my mother, deceased since 1986: I declared on the day you departed this plane that it would never be over for me. It still isn't. I'm 61 years old now, but I continue to miss you every grateful day of my life.. Thank God you are ever present in our lives here! One of your grandchildren and one of your great-grandchildren--neither of which you had the pleasure to meet--share your birth date. No one will ever convince me that that is an accident!
To my sister: God bless you this day! Mother of two, grandmother of five, great-grandmother of three--your tribe doth increase! I hope they all appreciate you. You have bent over backwards for your bairn through the years. They will come to know how much you love them all!
To my daughter: No one ever said motherhood was easy! I am so glad you are in my life. I am equally glad my grandchildren are here. We have had our challenges, but we always come out on top. You have forever been my life...but when my grandchildren were born, it gave a new dynamic to everything. We are both blessed with the best children/grandchildren in the world. When you get tired, imagine life without the little rascals...
To all of the other mothers in the world: God bless you! Motherhood never stops. It's not like you can say, "I'm done."
Happy Mother's Day to all you "mothah's:. I love you!
Peg
