Labor Day...that last bastion of summer when you try to forget that school is already in session, but it's September already...has come and gone. The children came home from camping with their father and some friends yesterday afternoon. Meg took them shopping for things noonish today; I took them to Splash Island for the LAST day of fun at the pool before it closes (today). Poor underprivileged children...
While we were at the pool, I asked Meg to work on the coat closet. We had coats, scarves, and gloves coming out the wazoo...some of them ancient. We have weeded out the garbage and made some order in the closet. Woohoo!
The house is still trashed. Every day, a little progress is made in figuring out what to do with things that have accumulated through the years, but it's not a pretty process. Who would have guessed it would take this long???? My rule still applies: nothing new comes into the house unless something goes out. I just keep telling myself that...
